As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, France "will continue to work in favour of a political solution to put an end to the current situation," Juobert said in an interview with the Moroccan French-speaking daily "Le Matin du Sahara et du Maghreb".

    The French diplomat said Morocco "has made serious and credible efforts" to settle this issue, adding that France considers that “the Moroccan autonomy plan offers a framework and serious prospects”. 

    Regarding Moroccan-French relations, Joubert said the two countries are bound by “old friendship ties”, adding that these “exceptional relations should be put at the service of Morocco’s development policy under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.”

    The French Ambassador expressed his country’s willingness to “support the Kingdom’s large-scale structural reforms”.

    "This willingness to support Morocco’s reforms will be even stronger in the post-crisis period. It is important that the Moroccan-French relations meet the economic and social challenges ahead,” he said.
