The European Union (EU) has expressed, before the 4th Committee of the UN General Assembly in New York, its support for a "just, lasting and mutually acceptable" political solution to the regional conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.

The Popular National Congress of Al-Quds affiliated to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Islamic-Christian Forum for the Support of Al-Quds and Sacred Sites, reaffirmed, Monday, the official and popular Palestinian position supporting the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

HM King Mohammed VI's speech, delivered on the occasion of the Green March's 46th anniversary, is "visionary" and "pragmatic" in the sense that it clearly lays the foundations to hasten the final settlement of the Sahara issue, promoting regional peace and stability, said Irina Tsukerman, an American analyst.

Gambia reaffirmed, Wednesday in New York, its "full support" for the legitimate rights of sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara.

Madagascar welcomed in New York, the efforts of Morocco to reach a "positive outcome" to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
