The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica welcomed the decision of the United States to recognize the sovereignty of the Kingdom over the entire Moroccan Sahara region and to open a U.S. Consulate in Dakhla.

The Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) stressed on Wednesday that the Polisario must understand "what is possible and what is impossible" to reach a solution to the Sahara issue.

The main support of the separatists in the European Parliament, which they called the "Western Sahara Intergroup" has just suffered a serious setback on Tuesday with the resignation of its president, Joachim Schuster, protesting against the violation of the ceasefire by the Polisario.

The opening on Monday of a consulate general of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Laâyoune, capital of the Moroccan Sahara, constitutes "a historic step" in the centuries-old relations between the two countries, said Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

The opening by the United States of a consulate in the city of Dakhla will help support and encourage investment and development projects in the region, said the US ambassador to Morocco, David Fischer.
