The American recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara marked an important turning point which is part of the continuity of the positions of support in this issue by the United States, notably to the initiative of autonomy proposed by the Kingdom, writes Italian magazine Insideover.

The 3,000 members of the International Platform for Defense and Support for the Moroccan Sahara have called on the entire international community, represented by the Security Council, to support the search for a realistic, practicable, and enduring political solution, that rests on compromise to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, on a single and the exclusive basis of the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative.

Morocco's intervention to reopen the El Guergarat crossing was necessary after the exhaustion of diplomatic efforts, director of the Spanish magazine specializing in Maghreb affairs "ATALYAR", Javier Fernandez Arribas, said on Wednesday.
