The US decision to recognize the full sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara is a final step that should bring everyone to integrate the reality, said Henri Frelinx, Vice-President of Belgian association "Friends of Morocco".

The artificial dispute over the Sahara is a question of Moroccan territorial integrity and not of decolonization, said representatives of several United Nations member states, on the occasion of a virtual side-event to mark the 60th anniversary of the adoption of the historic resolution 1514 of the General Assembly, also known as the "Declaration on the granting of independence to colonial countries and peoples".
