Togo reaffirmed, before the United Nations Committee of 24, its support for Morocco’s autonomy plan in the Sahara region, noting that this initiative is a “necessary constructive approach” for the settlement of this regional conflict.

The Kingdom of Bahrain reiterated on Tuesday its support for Morocco's legitimate rights over its southern provinces and all efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Sahara issue in the framework of the kingdom's sovereignty and its development initiative in this region.

Morocco is garnering more international support for its position on the Sahara issue, as well as for the autonomy proposal it submitted to the Security Council in 2007 with a view to finding a solution to this regional conflict, media outlet ‘Eurasia Diary’ pointed out.

A delegation of elected representatives from Morocco's southern provinces held talks on Tuesday in Oslo with officials from the Norwegian ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Norwegian Parliament on the latest developments of the Moroccan Sahara issue.
