Presentation of autonomy at a conference entitled "Sahara between yesterday and tomorrow"

The Moroccan initiative to negotiate an autonomy statute in the Sahara region was explained Tuesday in Mexico City, at a conference held by Abdellahi Ahl Abdelkader, a member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs(Corcas).

The President of the Canary Islands government, Mr. Paulino Rivero (Canary Coalition), met Wednesday afternoon at the headquarters of the Presidency in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with members of the delegation from the Moroccan southern provinces, currently visiting the Spanish archipelago.

A delegation from the southern provinces of the Kingdom began Monday, a visit to the Canary Islands, to discuss ways to further strengthen cooperative relations between the Spanish archipelago and this region of southern Morocco.

Participants at a conference on the Sahara held Friday evening in Amsterdam, have highlighted the positive momentum initiated by the Moroccan autonomy initiative and its relevance as the only solution able to reunite Sahrawi families.
