Laayoune won Thursday in Doha, the second prize of environmental security, given by the Arab Towns Organization (ATO) at its 12th session.

France stressed Thursday its support to the Moroccan autonomy plan as a serious and credible basis for a just, lasting and mutually acceptable to the Sahara issue, and reiterated its support for the efforts under the UN to reach a settlement of this conflict.

Participants at the first meeting of the Commission of parity and equal opportunity Morocco-Central America and the Caribbean Basin, held Monday in Rabat, launched, in a message addressed to the UN secretary general, a call to help international community to intervene to put an end to "suffering of thousands of kidnapped citizens who continue to suffer difficult life because of blockade imposed by Polisario".

The international community is called to put pressure on Algeria to stop interfering in the Sahara issue and get involved in a serious way in solving this regional conflict that has lasted too long , said academic and member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS) Lahcen Mahraoui.
