Kazakhstan on Monday reiterated its support to the Moroccan autonomy plan in the Sahara, deeming it as a "serious and credible" initiative to reach a peaceful solution to the Sahara issue.

Saudi foreign minister, Adel Al-Jubeir, reiterated the consistent position of his country, which is favorable to the efforts by Morocco agreed to provide a solution to the Sahara within Western Sahara autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty.

Socialist MEP Gilles Pargneaux called Wednesday for European Union 'stronger commitments'' to require the identification of populations in Tindouf camps.

An international campaign in support of the autonomy plan presented by Morocco for a final settlement of the Sahara issue was launched Saturday night in Seville (southern Spain) by a group of Moroccan associations in the Iberian country.

 

“The decision by Sweden not to recognize the pseudo “SADR” is “in accordance with international law and consistent with the political process conducted within the framework of the United Nations” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation on Friday.
