Togo described, Friday in NY, as realistic and credible the Moroccan autonomy initiative in the Sahara and deemed that the settlement of the regional dispute hinges on the improvement of relations between Morocco and Algeria.

Former Special representative of the UN Secretary General Erik Jensen reiterated Thursday in New York the "inapplicability and non-feasibility of the UN settlement plan for the Moroccan Sahara issue.

Guatemala and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) called on Tuesday in New York parties to the conflict over the Sahara to “show political will and cooperate in order to provide a platform conducive to dialogue” stressing their support for UN efforts for a “just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution.”

The Spanish Green Party (Los Verdes) called for a peaceful and negotiated solution to the Sahara issue, "without winner or loser."

Bahrain on Monday reiterated its full support to Morocco's territorial integrity and the autonomy initiative proposed by the kingdom to reach a final political settlement of the Sahara issue.
