Israel’s decision recognizing Morocco’s Sovereignty on its Sahara is another step in the right direction, underlined Joe Wilson, member of the U.S House of Representatives.

The recognition by the State of Israel of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara constitutes a new victory for Moroccan diplomacy under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, affirmed the Chioukhs (leaders) of the Sahrawi tribes of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.

The decision of the State of Israel to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara is the result of "the forward-looking leadership" of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, backed by "an insightful vision forged in patience and historical legitimacy," said Monday Peter Pham, a high-profile member of the prestigious US American think tank The Atlantic Council.

The State of Israel's decision to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara is an "important diplomatic victory" with great political significance and economic repercussions for all of the Kingdom's southern provinces, said El Khattat Yanja, president of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Council.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told a press briefing in Washington yesterday, Tuesday July 18, that the U.S. decision on the Moroccan Sahara remains unchanged.
