The autonomy plan presented by Morocco to settle the Sahara issue continues to attract an international diplomatic support, said the prestigious British think-tank the Economist Intelligence Unit.

The multiplication in the region of non-viable states incapable of performing the functions related to the attributes of sovereignty and the duty to secure their territories is likely to open the door for extremists and traffickers of all kinds to hijack this kind of puppet entities and make the region a fertile ground for the proliferation activities of Al Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), said the Washington Post in an analysis titled: "Proliferation of failed states ".

France hails the adoption of UNSC resolution on the Sahara which sends a clear message of support for reforms carried out by Morocco mainly in the human rights field, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.
