The Saharawi population of Tindouf camps are subjected to abject living conditions and "dream of one thing: to return to their homeland, Morocco, "said expert Richard Miniter, who visited the Tindouf camps in an article published in the latest issue of the U.S. magazine, Foreign Policy Magazine.

The international human rights watchdog, Amnesty International (AI), denounced the impunity enjoyed by the perpetrators of human rights violations in the polisario-run sequestration camps of Tindouf (south-western Algeria).

The French Foreign Minister Alain Juppé told the parliamentary foreign-affairs committee, on Wednesday in Paris, that the latest Security Council resolution on the Sahara has taken into account Morocco's efforts in the area of human rights.

Professor Charles Saint-Prot devoted the editorial of the latest edition of the Bulletin of the Centre for Geopolitical Studies (OEG) to the relationship of the Sahara with the turmoil that exists in the region, emphasizing the fact that the solution to the Sahara on the basis of the Moroccan proposal is an absolute necessity to end the role played by Polisario in the maintenance of regional destabilization. 

Polisario recruits fighters in the Tindouf camps (Algeria's south-west) and sends them to Libya in order to frustrate the uprising, said founder of the Washington, D.C.-based Institute on Religion and Public Policy, Joseph Grieboski.
