Sahara issue will not impede rapprochement between Morocco and Algeria, Algerian FA Minister

On the occasion of the 30th meeting of foreign ministers of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), Algeria said that the Sahara issue will not impede the efforts made by the five countries (Morocco, Algeria , Mauritania, Tunisia and Libya), for the revival of the AMU, as this case is before the United Nations for a solution satisfying all parties.

Maintaining conflict over the Sahara feeds AQIM activities in the region (IR)

A report released Thursday in Washington, said that the Sahara conflict opens the door for the expansion of activities of Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), in the Maghreb and Sahel regions, citing the recent AQIM operations, namely the kidnapping of three European humanitarian workers inside Polisario camps in Tindouf.
