A negotiated solution for the Sahara issue, within the framework of the United Nations is the way that the international community should follow in its efforts, indicated Tuesday in Madrid, the Spanish foreign affairs minister Mr Miguel Angel Moratinos

Morocco's initiative to grant a substantial autonomy to its southern provinces, the Sahara, is a "privileged solution" to settle for good the Sahara issue, visiting U.S. Reverend, Richard Cizik, underlined here on Friday.

 Morocco has accused Algeria of fooling the United Nations High Commissioner for refugees (UNHCR) and the International Community, as it claims food needs for the populations in the Tindouf camps, while arming and funding the Polisario.

 The autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty, presented by Morocco, is the best choice for the revitalization of the integration of the Maghreb region, said Thursday in London, Mr. Ahmed Herzenni, president of the Consultative Council on Human Rights (CCDH). 

At that poignant reunion, resulted Wednesday the two-day meeting initiated under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the zaouia Darkaouiya Sheikh Sidi Brahim Bassir (Azilal province), in commemoration of Moroccan Sahrawi people uprising against the Spanish occupation forces (17 June 1970), in which Martyr Bassir Mohamed, a native of the zaouia and one of his fervent followers, played a key role.
