Corcas chairman holds press conference at Moroccan embassy in Paris

Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, held a press conference on Wednesday at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Paris, with representatives of various written and audio-visual media. He gave a detailed presentation on the Moroccan initiative to grant autonomy to the Sahara region and turn the page of the past, reconciliation, as well as functions of Corcas updated for this purpose by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Mr Khalihenna Ould Errachid is an expert of Franco policy in Western Sahara. He was the leader of the National Sahrawi Unity Party before he pledged allegiance to Hassan II shortly before the Green march. Now he is the Mayor of the City of Laayoune and has been appointed recently by the king as head of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs. He is trying to impose autonomy that Rabat says it would bring back Western Sahara within Morocco.
