A Sahrawi Family, which benefited from the 17th exchange family visit organized in 2008 from and to the southern city of Laayoune, decided not to return to the Camps of Tindouf (Southwest Algeria), to settle once and for good in Morocco.

 Amnesty International (AI) has voiced concern about restrictions on freedom of circulation and impunity prevailing in Tindouf camps, southwestern Algeria.

The Moroccan initiative to negotiate an autonomy statute in the Sahara region was explained Tuesday in Mexico City, at a conference held by Abdellahi Ahl Abdelkader, a member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs(Corcas).

The Kingdom of Morocco has participated on April 8, 2008 in the meeting of Working Group of the Human Rights Council in charge of the Universal Periodic Review with a large delegation headed by Mr. Abdelwahd Radi, Minister of Justice, and Mghizlat Ahmed, CORCAS vice-president.
