The Kingdom of Morocco welcomes the adoption today by the UN Security Council of resolution 2654 on the Moroccan Sahara issue, which renews the mandate of MINURSO for one year, until the end of October 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates said on Thursday.

The representative of Burkina Faso said before the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, "My delegation commends the Moroccan autonomy initiative and reiterates its support.

The Union of Comoros reiterated, in New York, its "full" support to the Moroccan autonomy initiative, calling it "the compromise solution" to resolve the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

Yemen reaffirmed, in New York, its firm position in support of the territorial integrity of Morocco and the Moroccanity of the Sahara, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
