Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has renewed its support for Morocco’s autonomy plan before the UN Fourth Committee in New York, describing it as the “only solution” to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

At the United Nations headquarters, Burundi reaffirmed its support for the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty, emphasizing the need to resolve the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara “in a spirit of dialogue, realism, compromise, and cooperation.”

Last Monday, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the Republic of Benin reaffirmed its support for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative as a means of definitively resolving the issue of the Moroccan Sahara. It called on the parties concerned to use this initiative as a basis for continued dialogue aimed at reaching a final political solution to the conflict.

Antigua and Barbuda on Monday reaffirmed its support for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, considering it a "credible and realistic basis" for a definitive settlement of the Moroccan Sahara issue.

On Thursday in Geneva, during the 77th annual session of the UNHCR Executive Committee, a group of countries formed to support UNHCR’s role in resolving protracted refugee situations called for residents of the Tindouf camps to be informed of the various “durable solution options” available to them. This call comes in light of UN Security Council Resolution 2797 and the diplomatic developments that have followed its adoption.
