Gambia reaffirmed, before the 4th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, its support for the Moroccanity of the Sahara and its "strong backing" to the autonomy initiative, which represents a "serious and compromise" solution to this regional dispute.

The UN Security Council on Wednesday held closed-door consultations on the Moroccan Sahara issue, during which the Council's members reaffirmed their full support for the political process led by the UN since 2007.

Secretary General makes it clear that neither Polisario, nor its "representatives" have status with the UN

In his latest report to the Security Council, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterre exposed the usurpation of status and function, as well as forgery and fraud by a member of the separatist armed group of the "polisario", which deceptively proclaims itself "representative at the UN".

In a report submitted to the General Assembly, the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, reaffirmed that the situation in the Moroccan Sahara remains “calm”, once again cutting short the fallacious allegations of the separatists on the situation in the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom.
