The Central American Parliament (Parlacen) has expressed its support for all the measures taken by Morocco to ensure free civil and commercial movement through El Guerguerat border crossing post linking the Kingdom to Mauritania.

Morocco reaffirmed its attachment to the ceasefire, while reserving the right to react with "the greatest severity" against any threat to its security, said Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita.

The Government of the Republic of Togo expressed, on Friday, its support for "Morocco's right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity" through the restoration of the free movement of persons and goods in the El Guerguarat crossing linking the Kingdom to Mauritania.

The Kingdom of Morocco and the Russian Federation reiterated on Thursday the need "for all parties" to the regional conflict over the Moroccan Sahara to respect the ceasefire and remain fully engaged in the political process, said a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad.

The successful securing of the El Guerguarat crossing has led to a "new diplomatic and political reality," Head of Government, Saad Dine El Otmani, said on Thursday in Rabat.
