US President Barack Obama signed, on Tuesday, a document on the promulgation of the 2015 appropriation bill which reinforces, unequivocally, the aid to development in the southern provinces, in line with Washington's support for the Sahara autonomy plan, under Morocco's sovereignty.

Khalihenna Ould Errachid, Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), received Tuesday afternoon at the headquarters of the council in Rabat, a delegation of young leaders from Europe and North America, visiting Morocco as part of a cultural exchange program under the auspices of the civilizations Alliance within the United Nations.

Secretary executive of the Forum of Presiding Officers of Legislative Assemblies of Central America and the Caribbean Basin (FOPREL) Santiago Rivas Leclair described the autonomy proposal in the Sahara, under the Moroccan sovereignty, as a revolutionary and very advanced solution for the final settlement of this issue.

The UN General Assembly adopted, on Friday, without a vote, a resolution on the Western Sahara issue, previously adopted by the 4th committee last October, and in which the UNGA reiterates the UN’s support for the search of a negotiated political solution as well as to the parameters set by the UNSC since 2007.

Moroccan opposition parties, namely the Socialist union of popular forces (USFP), the Istiqlal party (PI), Authenticity and modernity party (PAM) and the Constitutional union (UC) unveiled on Wednesday a national initiative for the implementation of autonomy in the Sahara.
