Associating the true representatives of the inhabitants of the southern provinces will put an end to the allegations of those who proclaim themselves as their exclusive representatives

In a speech to the nation Sunday evening, marking the 36th anniversary of the Green March, His Majesty King Mohammed VI said that the Moroccan Sahara will be a model for advanced regionalization, implying a democratic election of its instances and a large transfer of powers and resources from the center to the regions, and providing bodies for regional and national solidarity, social upgrading and human development.

The latest developments in the Moroccan Sahara issue illustrate the relevance and strength of Morocco’s position, supported by the gains accumulated during the negotiations held under the auspices of the United Nations as well as at the bilateral and regional levels, said Wednesday Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri.

"Morocco has proposed constructive ideas. We consider the autonomy proposal a possible solution" to settle the Sahara issue, said Monday in Rabat, US. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman.

Morocco has called upon to the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to implement the Resolution of the Security Council concerning the registration of people in Tindouf camps.

The delegation of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs represented by Mrs Zahra Al Shakaf and Mrs Maskoula Baamar before the Fourth Committee of the United Nations in New York made two speeches on the status of Sahrawi women in the Kingdom of Morocco, where they have rights and benefits, the issue of humanitarian aid embezzlement in the Tindouf camps as well as the kingdom's efforts to settle the artificial dispute over the Sahara.
