The President of the Republic of the Comoros, Ahmed Abdellah Mohamed Sambi, reaffirmed Wednesday in New York, the constant support of his country to Morocco regarding the Sahara issue.

"Lebanon supports Morocco in defending its legitimate cause as the Kingdom has done with Lebanon," ambassador of Lebanon to Morocco, Moustapha Hassan Moustapha, said.

Foreign minister, Taib Fassi Fihri on Tuesday welcomed Washington's reaffirmed support to the Moroccan autonomy initiative for the final settlement of the Sahara issue.

Ambassador of Germany to Morocco, Ulf-Dieter Klemm, described as a "sound approach" the Moroccan initiative to grant autonomy to its southern provinces, the Sahara.

Former French Foreign Minister, Hubert Védrine, highlighted the "important" statement made, last April before the Security Council, by the former UN envoy for the Sahara Peter Van Walsum, which deemed that "the independence of the Western Sahara is not a realistic option."
